LOTR - 1
OK. I’ve tried to read the Lord of the Rings before and always found myself stuck, like multisyllabic words in a peanut butter sandwich. This time, and I think I know why, I can read it without getting bored to death. Why? Easy, I skipped the forward and the prologue. Those sections are awful. I started with the story and already I’m picking up the differences from the movie. The most obvious is that in the book, Frodo, et al, don’t set off on their adventure for about 17 years after Frodo takes possession of the ring. The book reports him as not aging and yet, Sam, Merry and Pippen must be aging. Not so in the movie.
Who cares?
