July 4th Fireworks…Here’s a New Schedule

Excellent fireworks last night in Milford Massachusetts. Just one problem: They didn’t start until 10pm. I am awake most mornings before 5:30. It’s a long long trip to 10:30pm and then the long wait in the car waitingin traffic to get home. I propose some alternatives.

The only requirement for successful fireworks is dark (and maybe dry but nevermind). Two simple solutions come to mind:

  • Move “July 4th” to January 4th. It will be plenty dark enough by 6:30pm. Early enough to scare the babies and get them into bed at a reasonable hour.
  • Keep the holiday in July. but have the fireworks at 4:00am. I don’t mind getting up early. Honest.

    • There you have it. Two simple and, no doubt, soon to be wildly popular solutions to an age old problem.
